The price of Chromebooks have been considered relatively low, although Acer is looking to make Chromebook prices even cheaper as they announce a brand-new laptop featuring the Chrome OS for just $200.

The Acer Chromebook C720-2848 features an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display, Intel Celeron processor based on Haswell’s micro architecture, a 16GB SSD, 2GB of DRAM, 100GB of free Google Drive online storage for the first two years and weighs in at only 1.25kg, or 2.75lbs. The new Acer Chromebook is said to offer around 8.5 hours of battery life. Other features of the C720-2848 include a webcam, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, HDMI, and a USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port.

One of the most important features of the Chromebook is the free Google Drive online storage for the first two years as much of what you’re going to be doing will be relying on the cloud.

For a $200 laptop, those specs seem pretty good when you consider the price, which as of now is the lowest prices Chromebook currently available. The Chrome OS is regularly receiving some much needed love from Google, so if you have someone in your life who doesn’t need much from their mobile computer, you can pick up the Acer Chromebook C720-2848 starting today across several retailers, both online and offline.
