DSC06429.jpg__1000×665_.png__997×593_When Motorola first announced the Moto X, one of the coolest customizable options we saw was how customers could potentially choose a wooden backplate for the handset, which is definitely different and more unique from your typical color options. Unfortunately until today, no word on when the wooden backplate option will make its way into the Moto Maker site, but last we heard it was tipped for a Q4 2013 release. Well  the good news is that if you were looking forward to a wooden-backed Moto X, a tweet by reporter for Reuters has revealed that the wooden option will be coming in time for holiday shoppers.

The tweet also mentioned that this means that the option will be skipping Thanksgiving, but we suppose better late than never, right? Interestingly enough another color option was found on the Motorola website, thanks to the digging done by the folks at Droid-Life who discovered that a gold finish was a possibility as well. It is unclear if this will be a complete body color option, or if it will only be limited to button accents, but either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled. What do you guys think? Who else is looking forward to a Moto X handset with a wooden backplate?
