samsung-ad-budgetThe advertising industry certainly has its fair share of ups and downs, but one thing’s for sure – there is plenty of money to be made in this particular industry. From what we know, Samsung is tipped to spend a whopping $14 billion in 2013 alone when it comes to advertising and promoting its consumer electronics to the masses. That would make Samsung be on top of a list that they most probably would not want to, that is, having the largest percentage of revenue compared to any of the other top 20 companies (by revenue) when it comes to splurging on advertising.

For comparison’s sake, Apple spends just 0.6% of its revenue on advertising, while Samsung themselves have forked out as much as 5.4%, which is nearly ten times more than what its rival Apple spends. J.K. Shin claims that splurging all of that money has helped them end up at where they are today, with Samsung being one of the names sought after where smartphones are concerned. How has all of that advertising money from Samsung influenced the way you purchased products down the road? One thing’s for sure, spending more does not necessarily mean earning more bottomline.
