They say that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but there are times when Jack would need to set aside to study and learn, too. Educational tools have improved by leaps and bounds over the years thanks to the introduction of technology, and with the Hummingbird Duo, it might very well signal the advent of an electronics kit that is not only fun but educational as well even for a fourth grader. The Hummingbird Duo will let you learn progressively, where individual steps will increase your skill level and when you master each step, the Hummingbird Duo can then be used in newer and more interesting methods.
The Hummingbird Duo is the brainchild of a spin-off company from the Carnegie Mellon University, where it started off with the Arts and Bots project in the CREATE Lab. The very first Hummingbird kit version has already made its way across a few hundred schools, where it has been used to expand the students’ creative minds and tickle their imagination.
It is touted to be an excellent vehicle or platform to introduce the likes of electronics, robotics, engineering and programming regardless of the environment, be it at home, in the classroom, in summer camp, or in a club. Hopefully more educational minded folk will see the Hummingbird Duo to be relevant in the development of a child than as an afterthought.
