Samsung already has quite a few smartwatches out in the market and it looks like the company is going with one of the hottest trends in the smartwatch industry right now. Motorola kicked things off by showing its round Moto 360. The design has been appreciated a lot so much so that a handful of other manufacturers are also making similar smartwatches, LG is one of them. A new report published today claims that even Samsung might be developing a Gear smartwatch with a round design.

Sammobile claims to have received information about this smartphone. It is reportedly Samsung’s response to the Moto 360 and the upcoming circular smartwatch from LG. The smartwatch is apparently under development right now and might be unveiled later this year.

Just yesterday we heard a rumor about another Samsung Gear smartwatch which is said to have a curved AMOLED display in a rectangular shape. Samsung’s existing Gear 2 lineup has a square design. The scribe’s source doesn’t say when this circular smartwatch will be released by Samsung but apparently it will take a couple of months after the Galaxy Note 4 hits the market in September.

Samsung is expected to launch the Gear Solo alongside the Galaxy Note 4 next month. Previous reports indicate that this smartwatch will be SIM-enabled, allowing users to make phone calls straight from their wrist.
