iPhone-6-review-10According to initial reports, it was revealed that the iPhone 6 was actually outselling the iPhone 6 Plus by a huge margin. It was thought that perhaps the phablet-sized iPhone 6 Plus wasn’t for everyone, but later it was revealed that Apple did not produce enough to meet the demands of customers.

This was confirmed by T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere who spoke at Re/code’s code/mobile conference where he revealed that the iPhone 6 Plus accounted for a whopping 45% of iPhone orders at the carrier. This was also much higher than T-Mobile themselves had anticipated as the carrier had only estimated that the iPhone 6 Plus would account for 20-25%.

Legere also acknowledged that it would take some time before the iPhone shipment levels are back to normal. This is in line with what Apple’s CEO TIm Cook had said last week where he revealed that demand for the handset far outstripped supply, and that supply and demand levels would most likely not be balanced by the end of the year.

To help speed things along, Apple is said to have shifted some production efforts away from the iPhone 6 and towards the iPhone 6 Plus. They are also reportedly offering Foxconn financial incentives to help boost the amount of iPhone 6 units produced to help meet the demand from their customers.
