operamini9Since not all of us are on unlimited data plans, conserving data is key to going through an entire month without running out of it halfway. Of course hooking onto a WiFi network wherever possible helps, but if you find yourself in situations where WiFi isn’t as readily available, perhaps the Opera Mini 9 browser might be of interest to you.

From the get-go, Opera’s focus with regards to its mobile browsers has always been about optimization. This is to allow websites to loads as quickly as possible while conserving data at the same time. Well with the recent release of Opera Mini 9, it comes with a feature called Video Boost.

Basically what this does is that it optimizes videos to help users conserve their bandwidth, and all of this can be done within the Opera Mini 9 browser itself. This means that if you’d rather not have to swap to a dedicated video app like YouTube, then this should save you a fair bit of time, not to mention it won’t interrupt your browsing experience either.

In fact Opera goes as far as claiming that the Mini 9 browser could replace dedicated video apps due to its optimization, but that’s for you to decide. The app is a free download so for those who are interested, head on over to the iTunes App Store.
