rm137Even in the world of technology, there will be rare items that pop up once in a while, waiting to be auctioned off – or sold, at a very handsome price. I suppose this is one of the major advantages of hoarding, right? Having said that, while Nokia no longer makes Symbian-powered handsets in the same way that they used to in their heydays, here we are with an extremely rare Nokia prototype, given the model number RM- 137, or else being dubbed with the moniker Nokia E80.

Needless to say, one would be able to tell that this particular handset did not get released on an official basis, although if it did, there is a very good chance that this would be a hybrid device of sorts that would not be too far away from that of the Communicator series. In fact, the device’s keyboard itself does bear an uncanny resemblance to what the Nokia N900 carries, complete with its unique hinge design that would be something that one would be able to find on a Nokia N97 and N97 Mini.

It remains to be seen when the RM-137 was produced, no thanks to the lack of time stamps where the forum post is concerned, but one thing is for sure – this is a unique smartphone.
