If you have a phone with a large battery, charging it can take quite a while, which is why in the case of tablets, OEMs typically supply wall adapters that can output more power for a quicker charge. However when it comes to charging, it seems that not only does the adapter matter, but its cable as well, which is why for those looking for a quick charge, the SONICable might be worth checking out.

The SONICable is an Indiegogo project for a smartphone cable that its creators claims will be able to charge any device twice as fast as a standard cable. Apparently this is due to a built-in mechanism that will allow the user to toggle enable/disable the syncing. When syncing is disabled, the power used for syncing will then be re-routed to the device, thus doubling its charging speed.

Syncing can be re-enabled if you’re really looking to sync your phone with photos, songs, videos, and etc., but if you’re not then disabling it will help speed up the charging process. Apart from its speedy charging capabilities, the SONICable also features a dual-sided USB connector with an aluminum tip, and will also come in an MFi certified Lightning connector option.

The Indiegogo project has managed to surpass its funding goals but if you’d like to donate and reserve a unit for yourself, you can still do so by popping on over to its Indiegogo page for the details.
