iPhone-6-review-5Apple has certainly had one of the better December quarters in recent memory, and it seems that the good times look set to continue rolling. Just how much more better can things get remain to be seen. Companies in Apple’s supply chain are reportedly mentioning the potential of Apple surpassing the 50 million iPhone sales figure in the current March frame – how optimistic is that?

DigiTimes claims that sources from within Taiwan’s handset supply chain have pointed out the very real possibility of the iPhone surpassing the 50 million sale mark. If that were to be the case in due time, then it would also be another milestone, since this is the very first time outside of the holiday shopping season that something like this could happen. To arrive at 50 million units sold within a three-month period would actually translate to a 14.4% increase from the 43.7 million iPhones that the company shipped in the corresponding quarter last year.

Apart from that, these alleged supply chain expectations for the iPhone are also said to be within the expectations of what the suits over at Wall Street are projecting, since analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray also did make mention that the market, in general, are looking at sales of approximately 51 million iPhones for the March period.
