In April the Apple Watch is finally going to go on sale. The company is yet to confirm the official release date but CEO Tim Cook has already said that shipments start this April. When talking about its first smartwatch the company has often said that customers will be able to create millions, yes millions, of combinations with different watch faces and interchangeable straps. It didn’t say when these straps will go up for sale. If a new report is to be believed then individual Apple Watch straps will be sold from the very day the smartwatch hits shelves.
The report suggests that customers will be able to purchase different straps for their Apple Watch on the very day this device goes on sale for the first time. This would allow customers to choose their own personal style with this product, which Apple is already positioning as more of an accessory than a conventional smartwatch.
9to5mac’s sources only say that individual straps will be available from day one, they don’t reveal how much Apple is planning on charging for each strap. Apple itself has not provided this information up till now.
Apple is already said to be working on a redesign of its retail stores to blend this completely new product in its retail outlets. That’s a major step which has to be completed before this device goes on sale in April.
