XOOMIt has been a while since we’ve seen a Motorola-made tablet although that was supposed to change when Lenovo acquired the company. Unfortunately if you’re still waiting for a Motorola-made tablet, you could be waiting a while as the company does not appear to have any plans for tablets in the near future.

This is according to Motorola’s President Rick Osterloh who tweeted a response to a question from a customer who asked about seeing Motorola tablets in the near future. According to Osterloh, he wrote that Motorola has no plans on making any tablets for now, and also pointed that user to Lenovo’s Yoga offerings.

Now prior to Osterloh’s statement, there were rumors that Motorola was testing several different tablets ranging from 7-inches to 12.5-inches, but we’re guessing that they didn’t pass the testing phase otherwise we might have seen them already, and Osterloh’s statement more or less confirms the speculation.

Then again Motorola has never really been known for their tablets to begin with, so perhaps it’s not a huge loss for them. They are however making waves in the wearables market with their beautifully-designed Moto 360, so perhaps focusing on that instead of tablets for now might be a better idea. In the meantime anyone else bummed that there might not be any Motorola-made tablets in the near future?
