Motorola has initiated its Android 17 rollout, slowly bringing the latest operating system updates to selected devices, including the Razr Ultra (2025) and the Edge 70 Fusion. While competitors like Samsung have advanced quickly with their system deployments, Motorola’s rollout pace varies significantly across different device categories and geographic regions.

For the Razr Ultra (2025), the upgrade is currently reaching a limited number of users in the United States via over-the-air installation. Given this cautious start, widespread regional distribution for the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered foldable is expected to take several weeks. According to official statements from Motorola representatives on Reddit, foldables require extended development time to ensure seamless application transitions between cover and internal displays, which contributes to the gradual deployment timeline.

In contrast, the Edge 70 Fusion is experiencing a much wider and faster regional rollout. Numerous users across multiple Asian and European countries report receiving the update, highlighting the global popularity of the 6.78-inch mid-range device. This comprehensive software package delivers a large collection of user interface tweaks, performance enhancements, and system add-ons.

However, the update has introduced some challenges for early adopters. A notable number of users across various models have reported unusually fast battery drain following the installation, a performance hurdle also observed in other manufacturer ecosystems. Furthermore, Motorola confirmed that the lock-screen depth effect has been intentionally excluded from the stable release for Fusion models, reserving the visual feature exclusively for the brand’s top-tier flagship and foldable devices.

As Motorola continues to distribute the software packages internationally, users of older or alternate configurations may need to rely on manual system checks or await further regional scheduling to receive their official upgrade notifications.
