aosp-lollipopSomeone pinch me please – it is not even April 1st on the calendar, and here I am with word that a Nokia 1100 has been spotted in a benchmark, where it was caught running on a quad-core CPU alongside Android 5.0 Lollipop as the operating system of choice. Did I somehow doze off and woke up in an alternate dimension? Is the cosmos playing tricks on me?

Well, there has been some movement on Nokia’s side not too long ago with the Android-powered N1 tablet having sold out in a matter of seconds, which could be why the alleged leaked benchmark sheet has raised the eyebrows of many. To think that Nokia might actually enter the mobile device segment with Android in tow, while carrying the legendary Nokia 1100 model name is certainly an interesting idea to toy around with, although this is quite unlikely on the other hand.

Could this be a really April Fool’s joke or prank that was revealed way ahead of its time? We are not quite sure ourselves, but the alleged leaked benchmark sheet points to hardware specifications such as a quad-core MT6582 processor that has been clocked at 1.3GHz, a 720p resolution display, and in all possibility 512MB RAM – with Android 5.0 Lollipop in tow.
