iOS device owners got new software yesterday because after months of putting it through the beta process Apple finally released iOS 8.3 for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models. The new software brings wireless CarPlay, new emojis, stability improvements and more to the device. That’s not the only bit of software that Apple released, a new version is also out for the company’s set-top box, the Apple TV.

Apple TV software update 7.2 is out now and available for download. Those who use their set-top box regularly might have already received the update notification.

Bear in mind that the software update 7.2 has only been released for the third-generation Apple TV set-top box. If you have a previous model you won’t get the new release.

There’s not much in it and the changelog is vague as well, it only says that the new update brings general performance and stability improvements.

Apple TV owners were however the first to receive HBO Now, the cable giant’s online TV streaming service, which is actually exclusive to Apple devices for three months. The standalone HBO Now app went live on the Apple TV on its own a couple of days back.

Rumor has it that the company will introduce a new Apple TV set-top box later this year, it’s believed that the new device won’t have support for 4K as previously expected.
