It is not uncommon for Samsung to offer tailored variants of its flagship smartphones for certain markets. There have been rumors about a dual SIM Galaxy S6 and today some photos have appeared online possibly providing us our first look yet at this variant of Samsung’s new flagship. The company itself has not yet released official images of the dual SIM Galaxy S6 and hasn’t confirmed when and in which markets this variant will be released.

The device seen in these photos has two SIM card trays which will allow the user to use two lines on one device. Apparently the device inside the disguise is a prototype unit of the Galaxy S6.

It does carry the SM-G920 model number which is precisely the same model number that the Galaxy S6 has been assigned. As far as changes are concerned aside from support for dual SIM it’s very unlikely that changes will be made to the overall device.

Dual SIM handsets always see a limited release since they gain traction in only a handful of markets. We first heard about the Galaxy S6 Duo when it popped up on a Russian retail website and that’s one of the markets where this variant could be headed.

There’s no word from Samsung as yet when the Galaxy S6 Duo will come to market.
