Samsung and Apple are rivals so it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that when it comes to comparisons, both company’s flagship phones tend to get pitted against one another, like in a recent bending test video, and now thanks to the YouTube channel EverythingApplePro, we get to see a drop test in which both handsets are dropped to see which is sturdier.

In the video, the tester drops the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the iPhone 6 in a bid to test how durable either of these phones are. The first test was conducted from waist height to simulate a phone dropping out of the pocket of its owner, and the second test was done from head height to simulate someone dropping their phone while talking on it. The last test involved a 10-foot drop.

In the first test, as you can see in the video above, both phones continue to function just fine with just some scratches along their bodies. In the second test, the iPhone 6 managed to hold its own surprisingly well, and while the Galaxy S6 Edge did pretty well too, there were more visible damages seen along its home button and along the edge of the device.

As for the 10-foot drop, the iPhone 6 saw its sapphire camera lens cover shatter which is not surprising as one of the complaints of the sapphire material is that it is brittle. Interestingly enough the Galaxy S6 Edge held up very well despite the front, side, and back being made of glass. There were some chips and nicks to the glass, but overall it held together and did not crack or shatter, thanks to the use of Gorilla Glass 4.

While we doubt any of you guys will be dropping your phones from 10-foot heights, it’s still nice to know that at least for Galaxy S6 Edge owners, your device should remain relatively intact.
