Microsoft has made it clear that the Xbox One will be capable of streaming games to other PCs at some point but the company has not yet revealed when it will flip the switch on this feature. It appears that Microsoft might do so next month. Just yesterday the company started rolling out the preview build of the Xbox One May update to preview program members and some of them have spotted a new option in the Settings pane which hints that the game streaming feature might go live in May.

This feature was actually demonstrated by Phil Spencer back in January when he showed the integration between Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on Windows 10. Back then he didn’t say precisely when this feature will arrive on the consoles.

This obviously led to speculation about the release timeframe. Many came to the conclusion that Microsoft will not bring this feature to the Xbox One until Windows 10 was released to consumers, that’s expected to happen this summer.

However yesterday’s preview build of the Xbox One May update makes it seem like the feature might go live next month. Before it can be of any use the desktop Xbox app has to be updated as well to support this feature.

If it does receive an update soon that brings this functionality, then it will become absolutely clear that Xbox One owners will be allowed to stream games to other PCs starting next month.
