apple-watch-web-browser

The Apple Watch is capable of doing a lot of things but browsing the web is not one of them. It does not have a native web browser and for good reason, it would be absurd to browse websites on such a small display and frankly it just won’t work. That didn’t stop infamous iOS developer and hacker Comex from tinkering around and being able to demonstrate an Apple Watch web browser, no matter how ridiculous it looks on the smartwatch.

It’s not like this is a feature that’s only missing from the Apple Watch. All of the smartwatches that have been released up till now don’t advertise web browsing as a major feature that’s because it just won’t work on a device of such modest size.

That obviously doesn’t mean that smartwatches aren’t capable of running web browsers, because they most certainly are.

Comex has released a video which shows that he has been able to get the Google homepage to render on the Apple Watch, and it’s clear from the video that on a device with such a small display navigating the simplest of web pages is a chore like no other.

What it does highlight is the fact that the Apple Watch is capable of running arbitrary code, think of it as the first step towards a jailbreak of some sort for the smartwatch, though Comex doesn’t promise if he’ll ever put an Apple Watch jailbreak together.
