When gamers think of FPS games designed to push their gaming rigs to the limit, Crytek’s Crysis series of games comes to mind. While we’re not sure when the next Crysis will be released, the folks at Frame 6 have decided that maybe Crysis might be more fun played as a board game and have since launched a Kickstarter campaign for it.

The creators of the game are hoping €85,000 and so far have managed to raise a little over €24,000. With 25 days to go we’re not sure if they will be able to hit their goal. Now admittedly playing an FPS game in board game style is a bit odd, but according to the game’s description, “Crysis Analogue Edition brings the award-winning shooter to your table as a fast-paced strategy game. Play with up to eight friends and score points in either Team Instant Action or Capture the Relay game modes. Defeat your enemies using advanced weaponry and the unique abilities provided by the Nanosuit in this team-based tactical game.”

The game will come with miniatures and sets to help make the game more visually appealing, and for collectors we guess this might be a rather appealing prospect as well. To be fair we have seen video games translated into board games, like Blizzard’s Diablo 2 remade into a Dungeons & Dragons board game, so why not Crysis, right?

We have no idea how well the game will play as a board game but we’ll admit that it does sound pretty intriguing. If you’d like to learn more or pledge your support, check out the video above and hit up the game’s Kickstarter page for the details.
