acer-s59When one talks about smartphones, the name Acer might not be on the top of the list simply because it is far from being a major smartphone player. Well, the company still has its fair share of smartphones in the pipeline, and it looks like this Taiwanese firm has an upcoming device known as the Acer S59 that could very well arrive later this year. The Acer S59’s existence was brought into light because one model has already been benchmarked, apparently by someone who has a prototype of the device.

In the benchmark results, it goes without saying that the smartphone’s most important aspects like select hardware specifications will be revealed, and the outstanding feature of this would be the front-facing camera found on the Acer S59. Apparently, it will come with a 13MP resolution, allowing it to go toe-to-toe with the likes of the ASUS Zenfone Selfie, the HTC Desire Eye, and the Micromax Canvas Selfie.

The production units would most probably carry over all that is nice and good in the prototype device, and selfie lovers would definitely want to give it a go. As for the rest of the Acer S59, it is not too impressive with a 5” 720p touchscreen, MediaTek’s MT6753 SoC on board, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory and Android 5.1 Lollipop in tow.
