asus zenfone selfieJust last week we reported that ASUS had supposedly a new phone in the works dubbed the ZenFone Selfie. Well the good news for all you selfie lovers out there is that the device is real as ASUS has officially announced it during Computex 2015. As the name implies, this is a phone aimed for selfie lovers so don’t expect too much from it.

Starting with the camera, the ZenFone Selfie will feature a pair of 13MP cameras built using Toshiba’s sensors. It will feature laser autofocus so expect some high-quality front-facing photos. However apart from the tricked out cameras, the rest of the phone really puts it as a upper-mid range device.

The ZenFone Selfie will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. Unfortunately the amount of RAM in the handset was not mentioned but it is a safe bet to assume that there would at least be 2GB of RAM in it. It will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop preinstalled and will be available in a variety of different colors.

Pricing and availability of the ASUS ZenFone Selfie was not mentioned either, but there is a good chance it could be limited to the Asian region as we have seen in other selfie-centric phones in the past. That being said we will keep our eyes peeled should the handset ever arrive stateside.
