It can be a bit of a nuisance to type long messages when you’re chatting using a game console, it’s not exactly fun to use the joystick to moving between letters and select the correct one to type out the message. Surely there must be a better way to make chatting more easier and even fun on consoles. Microsoft has come up with a solution, it’s a full QWERTY chatpad for the Xbox One.

Launched today at Gamescom the Xbox Chatpad features a full QWERTY keyboard so typing is a breeze. There’s even a numbers row on top of the keyboard and the all-important space and erase keyboards are also present.

The Chatpad does much more than allow users to quickly compose messages. It can be used to enter codes, search for games and apps. There’s also a stereo jack for gaming headsets and it also features audio controls.

There are two new programmable buttons on the Xbox Chatpad that can be used to configure access to features like screenshots, Game DVR and much more at just one touch of a button.

Xbox Chatpad is compatible with all Xbox One controllers and it works with Windows 10 as well. Priced at $34.99 the Chatpad is available for pre-order today and it will be available on November 3rd, 2015.
