Next week Samsung will be hosting an event where they are expected to unveil new products like the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Given that we have been hearing about the Samsung Gear A round smartwatch for a while now, we had assumed that Samsung would show off the wearable then as well.
However according to a new report from SamMobile, that might not be the case. According to their sources, the Samsung Gear A won’t be the only smartwatch the South Korean tech giant has up their sleeves. Apparently the company has multiple variants of the device and that they will not be unveiling it at the Unpacked event next week which is held on the 13th of August.
It would seem that Samsung is instead reserving the unveiling of their smartwatches at IFA 2015 which will be held in Berlin in September. We suppose this would make sense since having an IFA event which will showcase both phones and wearables might be a bit overwhelming and might lead to some devices being overshadowed.
By announcing their phones ahead of IFA, Samsung can ensure that these new phones will get at least a few weeks in the spotlight before the attention moves on to their wearables, but we’re just speculating. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but either way be sure to check back with us next week to see what Samsung has in store for us.
