Not too long ago Facebook launched Instant Articles, the idea behind this was to take articles from partners such as The New York Times and BuzzFeed and load them within the Facebook app itself, thus eliminating the need for users to be taken to a separate website. This makes it much easier and faster to get to stories you care about, Facebook claims it’s 10 times faster than loading a separate page since the articles are hosted on Facebook’s servers. The Washington Post announced today that it will send “100% of its stories to Facebook.”

The Post has worked with Facebook to ensure that all of its rich content including videos and galleries are properly formatted so that they feel native to the Facebook platform.

“We want to reach current and future readers on all platforms, and we aren’t holding anything back,” said Fred Ryan, publisher, The Washington Post. “Launching Instant Articles on Facebook enables to give this extremely large audience a faster, more seamless news reading experience.”

Facebook still hasn’t opened up Instant Articles for all of its users but the social network said today that over the coming months it’s going to expand the number of people who can access Instant Articles. It also confirmed that additional partners will soon be joining this program, partners which include CBS, Time Inc., Hearst and many others.

Instant Articles are only accessible through the Facebook iOS app, the company is yet to confirm when it will bring this program over to its Android application.
