youtube gamingA couple of months ago YouTube launched YouTube Gaming. Back then the option to livestream was only available for desktop users. However an announcement made in Japan revealed that the feature would be making its way onto Android phones soon, and sure enough it has.

According to the latest update to the YouTube Gaming app on Android, it will now allow Android users to livestream whatever is on their screen via a live screencasting feature. Basically to do so, all you’d need to do is launch the app, go to “Go Live”, and choose the resolution that you want to record in (480p or 720p). Add a name, description, and you’re good to go.

What happens here is that you will now be able to create a livestream of your screen, so if you’re more into mobile games or if you’d like to be able to livestream mobile games along with desktop games, you now have that option with YouTube Gaming. Users can also enable the front-facing camera if you’re the sort that likes to talk to their audience.

Apart from the addition of the live screencasting feature, the update will also introduce new features like Watch Later (similar to the regular version of YouTube), and an import tool that lets you bring in gaming content from your regular YouTube subscriptions to YouTube gaming. The update is available for download via the Google Play Store if you haven’t downloaded it already.
