firefox-ios

It’s not like there’s any shortage of web browsers for iPhone and iPad, most users probably stick with mobile Safari since it’s not bad at all, but today they have yet another option. This particular option is already quite popular with desktop users as well as on other mobile platforms, it’s certainly about time that it arrived on iOS. Firefox is finally available for download today on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

It was first reported back in December last year that Mozilla had started working on an iOS version of Firefox. The browser has never arrived on this platform before, Mozilla did release an app called Firefox Home which allows iOS users to sync their history and bookmarks with Apple devices, but the app was canned in 2012.

Much like its desktop counterpart Firefox for iOS features a Private Browsing mode and lets users clear their browsing history and passwords with a single tap. It can sync history, bookmarks and open tabs across multiple devices provided that the user has Firefox on all of them.

Firefox for iOS also brings intuitive visual tabs making it much easier to find content, it lets users choose from a list of search providers to select a default, even options like DuckDuckGo are supported.

The web browser is now available for download absolutely free via the App Store.
