lenovo_vibe_x3Last week there was a report that suggested that Lenovo could be thinking about doing away with its Vibe brand. Instead, Lenovo would be turning to Motorola to handle all their smartphone needs. Given that Lenovo owns Motorola, the reports did make some sense. After all why would Lenovo want to compete with their own brand, right?

However it turns out that the rumors were false. According to a new report, it seems that Lenovo will not be doing away with the Vibe brand after all. This is according to the folks at Gadget 360 who reports that a Lenovo spokesperson had refuted the earlier report, saying that, “Vibe remains an important brand in the Lenovo mobile family. We plan to continue to expand and grow the franchise in select markets around the world.”

Like we said, the previous report did make sense especially when you consider that Motorola is a much more established name when it comes to mobile devices, but either way it looks like the Vibe brand is here to stay. The company has recently released their latest Vibe handset in the form of the Vibe X3, but unfortunately it seems that for now the phone will only be available in China, and there’s no word on a US launch just yet.
