opera-max-100mSince there are quite a few of us who do not have unlimited data plans, this means that ensuring that the websites we surf are as data-friendly is possible is important. There are several data compression apps out there that will help compress websites and videos, and one of those apps is Opera Max.

Now you might recall that Opera had previously announced that they would be working with several Android OEMs to ensure that Opera Max is preinstalled on their phones, and the good news for users is that it looks like that number has since increased. Opera has recently boasted that Opera Max is now integrated into the phones from at least 14 OEMs.

In fact the company is so optimistic about the success of the app that they predict come 2017, Opera Max will be installed on at least 100 million Android phones. According to Sergey Lossev, Opera’s product manager for Opera Max, “Many users are wary of using mobile data for fear of spending too much or exceeding their data caps. We see OEMs responding to this and stepping up to lower the barrier to mobile internet access by providing a data-optimization solution on their devices.”

Some of the brands that have the app preinstalled on their devices include Acer, Cherry Mobile, Evercoss, Fly, Hisense, Mobiistar, Micromax, Oppo, Prestigio, Samsung, Symphony, TWZ and Xiaomi. In the meantime if you don’t have the app and would like to get your hands on it, head on over to Google Play for the download.
