live-press-imageAt the moment there are apps such as Meerkat and Periscope. For those who don’t know about those apps, basically what they do is that they do a live broadcast of you and your surroundings using your phone. So if you are headed to an event that you’d like to share with your friends and followers in real-time, those apps will come in handy.

That being said it looks like Facebook wants in on the fun too and have recently announced Live Video. Basically with Live Video what Facebook will allow is for users to be able to share, well, live videos via their mobile devices. However it seems that at the moment, the feature won’t be available to everyone just yet and will only available to the US for now.

According to Facebook, “Live lets you show the people you care about what you’re seeing in real time — whether you’re visiting a new place, cooking your favorite recipe, or just want to share some thoughts. No matter where you are, Live lets you bring your friends and family right next to you to experience what’s happening together.”

Prior to this, Facebook had launched a similar feature however at the time of launch, it was only limited to celebrities and journalists, so essentially this is Facebook finally opening up the feature to the public.
