You can be sure that whatever Tesla makes it’s going to be powered by electricity. It’s an electric car company after all. If the roadster, the luxury sedan or the crossover haven’t proven to be enough for you, and if you don’t see much value in the upcoming affordable Model 3 sedan, perhaps you might like to purchase an electric truck from Tesla. It turns out that the idea to make one hasn’t completely been shot down by the company so it may come out with one at some point in the future.

During an interview at the StartmeupHK Festival in Hong Kong Tesla CEO Elon Musk touched on the possibility of Tesla making a pickup truck. “I think it is quite likely we will do a truck in the future,” said Musk, “I think it’s sort of a logical thing for us to do in the future.”

Obviously that was no confirmation that Tesla will soon be making one but it’s good to know that it’s open to the idea and whenever it feels the time is right for an all-electric truck, it will start making one.

The company has a bigger challenge on its plate right now. Chevrolet is coming out with the affordable all-electric Bolt and Tesla will counter it with its affordably priced Model 3 sedan. It’s going to be the mass market option that will enable lots of people to purchase an electric car as opposed to the minority that can spend as much as $100,000 on an electric car.
