OnePlus has quickly established itself as a player in the global mobile market and it’s not going away anytime soon. The company is supposed to launch a new flagship handset later this year and in a recent interview founder and director Carl Pei has revealed when we can expect the OnePlus 3 to be launched.

In an interview with CNET, founder and director of OnePlus Global Carl Pei has confirmed that the company’s next flagship smartphone is going to be unveiled “at the end of the second quarter,” which means that it will be announced by June this year.

Pei didn’t reveal any details about the upcoming flagship though so we’ll have to wait for that information. Pei is hopeful that the new smartphone will captivate users as much as the OnePlus One did, which was the company first smartphone that came out back in 2014.

He did reveal that the OnePlus 3 is going to have a new design, meaning that it’s not going to look similar to the OnePlus 2, and hopefully, the new direction will be good enough to bring more customers over from larger companies like Samsung and LG which have infinitely more resources at their disposal to push their flagship handsets.

No word as yet on the specifications and pricing of the OnePlus 3 but we’re bound to start hearing rumors about it in the near future.
