Last summer Microsoft released Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for the Xbox One and confirmed that a PC port will be released in the future. The company didn’t really provide any updates on the port so fans were left wondering whether this title really will materialize on PC. A few days ago Gears of War: Ultimate Edition was listed on the Windows 10 Store and it has now been released.

Microsoft has actually given a surprise with the way it has launched this title for PC. The company hadn’t provided a precise release date, it just flipped the switch on Gears of War: Ultimate Edition quietly.

The game has been remastered and modernized for Windows 10 and promises the “latest in PC gaming performance.” There’s support for mouse and keyboard in the PC port so players are not limited to using a gamepad for this title. Also included in the port are unlocked frame rates for both multiplayer and campaign modes. PC gamers can achieve up to 4K resolution if they have the proper rig for it.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for PC is live now on the Windows 10 Store and it can immediately be purchased for $29.99. Minimum and recommended PC specifications are mentioned in the game listing on the store.
