gow-ultimate-editionIn April this year, we did bring you word that Microsoft could be working on a remastered version of Gears of War for the Xbox One, and perhaps this is the culmination of that nugget of information – Microsoft’s remake of “Gears of War” for Xbox One has already gone gold, which means it is ready and waiting to be released officially to all and sundry who would like to have a go at it. Basically, those who had the faith to place a pre-order for the game will now be able to download it ahead of its August 25th release date, meaning you get to obtain some playing time right from the get go.

“Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” can be pre-ordered and downloaded digitally from the Xbox One store, where you can opt from either the $40 standard edition or the more expensive $60 deluxe edition. For $20 more, what do you get? Well, the deluxe version will boast of custom weapon and character skins, alongside 10 animated weapon skins, three dozen standard weapon skins as well as civilian Marcus Fenix and Aaron Griffin multiplayer skins.

Regardless, both versions will include a pre-order bonus of multiplayer characters Adam Fenix and civilian Anya. Sounds like a pretty good deal, don’t you think so? [Press Release]
