htc ice view caseOne of the accessories unique to the HTC One M8 and One M9 is the Dot View Case. For those unfamiliar with the case, basically this is a flip case for the phone with many perforated dots in the front of the cover. When attached to the phone, it created a unique pixelated look that showed the time, weather, and notifications in a somewhat retro design.

Unsurprisingly given the somewhat radical new look of the recently announced HTC 10, it looks like HTC has revealed a new accessory for the phone as well in the form of the Ice View case. The Ice View case is similar to the Dot View case in the sense that it is also a flip cover phone case, but it differs in the sense that instead of a dot matrix design, it sports a see-through cover.

The upside to this design is that according to HTC, “You can take photos in a snap, read text, adjust the volume, switch between songs, turn on the flashlight and much more. HTC Ice View also supports 3rd party notifications like Instagram, Tumblr, Google+, QQ and more – so you can follow your favourite social media at a glance.”

The case is priced at $50 and is currently available for purchase via HTC’s website. The HTC 10 has yet to be released but it is also available for pre-order on HTC.com where it is priced starting at $700 for the 32GB model.
