Minecraft developer Mojang has just confirmed that it has released an iteration of this popular game for Samsung’s Gear VR headset. Those who own Gear VR-compatible Samsung smartphones can play this game using the company’s VR headset. Mojang has actually released the Gear VR version of this game before it has released Minecraft for the Oculus Rift, so Samsung VR headset owners can consider themselves lucky.

To make things simple, Mojang has released a separate version of Minecraft on the Oculus Store that’s meant just for the Gear VR. The game has all of the features of the Pocket Edition, it even costs the same, and features cross-platform play with the regular Pocket and Windows 10 editions.

Mojang says that this is a super fun way to play the iconic game, however, it cautions players to read the safety information before deciding whether VR gaming is for them, as it’s normal for people to complain about headaches and motion sickness with VR. It’s also important to take regular breaks when playing games in VR.

Samsung smartphones compatible with Gear VR include the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. If you have any one of them and also a Gear VR, just slot the phone in the headset, download Minecraft from the Oculus Store and start playing!
