google_lightsaberAre you a fan of Star Wars? If you are, it is pretty obvious that we don’t need to tell you what today means. In case you are not a fan of the franchise, or maybe you’re just casually interested in it, today is the 4th of May, which also means that it is Star Wars Day, or also known as “May the 4th be with you”.

Now we know that Google as a company loves to celebrate all kinds of events and holidays, and today is no different. If you’re looking for a way to kill some time or maybe experience what it is like to wield a lightsaber, you’re in luck because Google has launched a fun little game that you can play directly within your browser.

To play, all you have to do is point your browser at lightsaber.withgoogle.com and follow the instructions on the screen. It will require you to enter an address on your smartphone, after which your smartphone and your browser will be linked and where your smartphone will double up as a controller for your on screen lightsaber.

The idea is to try and deflect as many Stormtrooper laser beams back at them as possible before facing the big boss, whom we won’t spoil for you. After that’s done, you’ll be making your escape from the ship and we guess you can compete with your friends to see how long it takes you. It is a pretty fun game so if you have a few minutes to spare or and if your boss isn’t watching, why not?
