space_black_iphoneThere have been rumors suggesting that this year’s iPhone 7 could come in a space black finish, and just last week there was an image of an alleged component that showed the space black finish, and in case you wanted more “proof”, Twitter user @the_malignant has tweeted (via 9to5Mac) more photos of the phone.

As you can see in the image above, what we are looking at is the chassis of the iPhone, the SIM card tray, and the mute switch which we saw last week. They are all in a black finish which certainly lends credence to the rumors of a space black option, but then again it’s not that hard to photoshop color, or spray existing components black and call it space black.

We suppose the new color option could give users a reason to upgrade, especially if they were holding out for the rumored redesigned iPhone. We have also heard rumors that there could be an iPhone offered in blue, and we’ve seen that appear in a recent video which we have to admit looks pretty good.

Now take this information with a grain of salt for now, but with Apple rumored to begin taking pre-orders for the iPhone come 9th of September, it means that we can look forward to the phone being announced either early September or towards the end of August, but either way it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait much longer.
