When the iPhone burst onto the scene, developers created all kinds of novelty-based apps that would take advantage of the phone’s screen. We’d have games that required users to press buttons, we’d have games where you’d have to guide a drunk in a straight line by tilting your phone, and yes, we also had countless access to fart apps.

In case it wasn’t obvious, fart apps are basically apps that emit a sound of flatulence and it was pretty much the rage back in the day. Obviously such apps have more or less died out, but it could be seeing a revival thanks to Apple’s new MacBook Pros with the Touch Pad. In fact there is already an app that has been prepped and ready to go for the MacBook Pro.

Now the new MacBook Pros with the Touch Pad aren’t available yet so we have no idea how the app will function, but in the video above it shows the emulator where upon launching the app, you’ll have access to three different fart sounds along with an escape button. Given how Apple is boasting how good their laptop speakers are, these should definitely turn some heads.

That being said, we have to wonder how Apple feels about this. The company has released guidelines on how to develop and take advantage of the Touch Bar, where the feature is meant to act as an extension of your keyboard as opposed to your screen, although we’re not sure if Apple can really do much about it.
