Seagate today announced the launch of a new 512GB SSD Game Drive for the Xbox One. The new SSD promises to provide faster storage for games on Microsoft’s flagship console. To further drive the point home that this SSD has been created with the Xbox in mind, it even comes with a special paint job. The enclosure is black and green while there’s also an Xbox logo in one corner to remind you of the fact that this SSD has been made with the Xbox One in mind.

Seagate claims that the new Game Drive for Xbox One offers fast boot and load performance, but the claim can’t be substantiated without some real-world tests, so you’ll have to take the company at its word for now.

It says that the new SSD uses flash storage to improve the gaming experience so waiting time at welcome screens is reduced and transitions between levels are quicker in top games such as Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3.

The storage capacity of this SSD is said to be good enough for 14 games accompanied by downloadable content. This enables gamers to better manage limited console internal drive storage as they continue to download more games for the console.

Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD costs $199.99 and is going to be available from Amazon, GameStop, and other retailers starting November.
