macbook-pro-without-touch-barThere is quite a fair number of criticisms leveled at Apple’s new 2016 MacBook Pro, more than we have ever seen before, and even more so than when the Mac Pro was launched in which many made fun of its “trash can” design and its price. However action speaks louder than words because despite the criticisms, many users are still purchasing the laptop.

In an interview with The Independent (via MacRumors), Apple’s SVP of Marketing Phil Schiller revealed that the MacBook Pros have received the most orders online compared to any other MacBook Pro from before. “And we are proud to tell you that so far our online store has had more orders for the new MacBook Pro than any other pro notebook before. So there certainly are a lot of people as excited as we are about it.”

This is interesting because of the biggest gripes about the new laptops was its price, which is an increase from previous generations. In some markets like the UK, the price hike is even more substantial, although we don’t have the breakdown by country yet. Regarding the criticisms, Schiller said that he was surprised.

“To be fair it has been a bit of a surprise to me. But then, it shouldn’t be. I have never seen a great new Apple product that didn’t have its share of early criticism and debate — and that’s cool. We took a bold risk, and of course with every step forward there is also some change to deal with.” We guess only time will tell us how the new laptops fare, but in the meantime are you planning on getting one?
