airpodDespite being pretty expensive considering what they are, and to a certain extent how ridiculous they look, it seems that Apple’s wireless AirPods headphones are a success. Or at least that’s what Apple’s CEO Tim Cook wants us to believe when he told a reporter from CNBC that the headphones were considered a “runaway success”.

The reporter had asked Cook about the shortage of the AirPods, in which Cook responded by saying that the headphones were a success and that Apple was trying to get new units made as quickly as possible. So far it seems that despite their relatively hefty price tag, the devices have been sold out and according to Apple’s website, customers will have to wait as long as 6 weeks before their orders are sent to them.

If you reckon that you can’t afford to wait 6 weeks, there are plenty of wireless headphones out there at the moment. If there is one advantage the AirPods have is that they’re small, lightweight, and thanks to its W1 chipset, it pairs with the iPhone much quicker and easier compared to most Bluetooth devices.

However if you don’t think it’s worth the $159, like we said, the wireless headphone market is pretty vast and there are plenty of alternatives out there for you with a similar, if not possibly cheaper, price tag.
