BlackBerry confirmed earlier this year that it will no longer be making its own smartphones. The company will team up with third-party manufacturers instead as it’s now going to outsource production of all of its devices in a bid to cut costs. The company has one device in the pipeline which is most likely going to be the last BlackBerry smartphone that it makes on its own, that handset has now been seen in leaked photos.

Like the DTEK50 and DTEK60, the upcoming BlackBerry handset is going to be powered by Android. BlackBerry hasn’t released a new BB10 OS powered device in a couple of years now and it’s unlikely to do so going forward.

Rumor has it that the last BlackBerry smartphone is going to tout security enhancements as well as a full QWERTY keyboard, something that BlackBerry handsets have always been famous for. It’s also claimed that this device will have a fingerprint sensor embedded in the space bar.

No confirmed information about the specs is available at this point in time but it’s believed that this handset will be powered by a 2.0 GHz Qualcomm processor coupled with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 4.5 inch display, an 18 megapixel rear and 8 megapixel front camera.

BlackBerry is yet to confirm what this device will officially be called and when it’s going to be released.
