When Samsung announced its intention to acquire Harman International, many speculated about Harman’s audio technology making its way to the company’s mobile devices. That turned out to be true when the company unveiled the Galaxy tab S3 yesterday which features audio “tuned by AKG.” For those who are unaware, AKG is one of the many premium audio brands owned by Harman. The company has now confirmed that it’s going to ship AKG earphones with the Galaxy S8.

The confirmation came from Samsung during its Mobile World Congress 2017 press conference yesterday in which it announced that a pair of AKG earphones will be bundled with its next flagship smartphone.

That wasn’t the only announcement related to the Galaxy S8 that the company made at its press conference yesterday. It also confirmed that the Galaxy S8 is going to be officially launched on March 29th at an event in London and New York.

No technical specifications of those earphones are available at this point in time but given AKG’s great track record with premium listening devices, we can get excited about AKG earphones with the Galaxy S8, Samsung’s upcoming flagship just might offer a really good audio experience that sets it apart from the competition.

We’ll find out more on March 29th when Samsung officially unveils its new flagship smartphone.
