Last year Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix, a phone with incredibly thin bezels that seems to have outdone many smartphone OEMs in the market. However it looks like Xiaomi isn’t about to rest on their laurels because according to a recent post on Weibo, it looks like the company is already working on a successor.

According to the post which was uploaded by Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun, it looks like Xiaomi will be once again working with French designer Philippe Starck. The company is apparently trying to push the design even further by creating a phone with even thinner bezels than before. For those unfamiliar with the Mi Mix, it had a 91.3% screen to body ratio, but the rumors are claiming that Xiaomi might be trying to push it to 93% which would make it an incredibly impressive feat.

No word on when the Mi Mix II (or whatever it will be called) will be launched, but given that the Mi Mix was launched last year, we can only assume that its successor will be launching this year as well. However this year we expect that there will be a few companies that might want to challenge Xiaomi’s design.

LG is supposed to debut a near bezel-less phone as well at MWC in the form of the LG G6, and if the rumors are true, Apple might be attempting something similar with the iPhone 8, but until then we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
