Following the recent announcement of HyperOS 4, Xiaomi introduced its new “Soft Light Glass” design language, a visual overhaul reminiscent of translucent liquid glass aesthetics.
Acknowledging the high graphic processing demands required to render complex animations and transparent UI elements seamlessly, the manufacturer published an official compatibility list detailing which devices will support this aesthetic feature.

Xiaomi has not yet published the full deployment schedule for the stable HyperOS 4 firmware update. However, industry projections indicate that the upcoming Xiaomi 18 series will be the first device lineup to launch with the operating system pre-installed upon its anticipated debut in September. Older eligible generations will receive the update through rolling regional software distributions following the initial hardware launch.
