A couple of weeks ago, Facebook confirmed that they would be launching a dedicated video app for smart TVs and devices. A couple of days ago, the app was launched for Samsung’s smart TVs and if you’re wondering where is the Apple TV version, you’ll be pleased to learn that the Apple TV app is now available for download.

Facebook’s desire to get more into video is hardly a secret as the company has been introducing more video features to its social media platform. Recently we heard how the company was trying to sign a deal with the MLB in which they would be allowed to stream some of the league’s games.

While this dedicated video app isn’t quite Netflix, basically what it does is that it pulls videos from user feeds and kind of “cleans” it up a bit by presenting them as just videos minus the accompanying text. There will four channels that users can choose from, such as “Shared by Friends,” “Following,” “Top Live Videos” and “Recently Watched,” with all their names pretty much being rather self-explanatory.

If you have an Apple TV and wouldn’t mind having a dedicated platform to view videos posted onto Facebook, then you’ll be able to download the Facebook Video app from the tvOS App Store where it is a free download and weighs in at 32.1MB.
