As far as OnePlus handsets are concerned, the OnePlus 3 and 3T were on the receiving end of the Android 7.0 Nougat update back in December 2016. This means that the original OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2, and the OnePlus X are the only handsets that do not have the Nougat update.

Now back in June last year, the company did state that the OnePlus 2 would receive the Nougat update, but to date there has been no indication that the update is on its way, and multiple posts on the official OnePlus forums have yet to yield a response from the company and it seems that owners of the handset are getting a little ticked off.

The folks at Android Police reached out to OnePlus who declined to comment, so it is unclear as to what’s going on. To be fair, OnePlus did not promise the update for the original OnePlus One or the OnePlus X, but for them to keep mum on the OnePlus 2’s status is a bit strange. After all just telling users that the update is still in the works is better than saying nothing, right?

It is possible that maybe the update had been cancelled or development on it has been halted, but that’s just speculation on our part. In any case we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information, so in the meantime OnePlus 2 owners should just remain patient, or they can head on over to Thunderclap and join its campaign if you’d like to bring this to the attention to OnePlus.
