The biggest gaming convention of the year is just around the corner and we’ve started hearing reports about what we can expect to be announced in Los Angeles. Halo developer 343 Industries has revealed that it’s going to unveil “a little something” at E3 2017 but it has also confirmed that it’s not going to be a new Halo game, so if you were crossing your fingers for Halo 6, there’s no use to hold on to that dream.

It has also been confirmed that the rumors about a Halo 3 remaster announcement at E3 2017 are not true. “OMG stop. There is no Halo 3 Anniversary,” writes Halo community manager Brian Jarrard in a thread on Reddit.

He also confirmed in the thread that 343 Industries is going to have “a little something at E3 but it’s not related to the next major entry in the franchise.” This means that we shouldn’t expect an announcement concerning a major Halo release at E3 2017 next month.

Given that the Halo developer has ruled out both a new title and a Halo 3 remaster, it’s not known at this point in time precisely what it is that 343 Industries is going to unveil at E3 2017.

Microsoft’s E3 2017 briefing will begin on Sunday, June 11th so we’ll only find out then if there are no leaks prior to that.
