A massive new update has been launched for Halo: The Master Chief Collection ahead of the title’s launch on Xbox Game Pass. It was confirmed recently that this title would be released on Microsoft’s subscription-based game service for Xbox owners. This latest update for the game weighs in at 73GB.

The changelog mentions that this 73GB update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection brings new features and improvements. This includes visual improvements for the title on the Xbox One X. These improvements will be applied to Halo 3: ODST, the title’s premium add-on.

The update will automatically begin downloading the next time players log into MCC. According to the Halo Waypoint blog, the update is “the culmination of months of work by the team here at 343 in close partnership with the MCC Insider community.”

Matchmaking has also been updated with this latest release so that players get a more stable experience across co-op and multiplayer. Dedicated servers in Microsoft global datacenters are now utilized for all matchmaking game sessions in order to improve stability, reliability, and consistency. Players will be able to see within the game what their average ping time is to each of the data centers.
